Quotes to Inspire

We're officially halfway through NaNoWriMo. To offer some encouragement to others who are pounding away at their keyboards toward that 50,000 word finish line, I'm sharing some inspirational quotes shared by authors who know what they're talking about. Enjoy, and be inspired!

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great. -Mark Twain

No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. No surprise in the writer, no surprise in the reader. -Robert Frost

Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work. -Stephen King

Critics sometimes appear to be addressing themselves to works other than those I remember writing. -Joyce Carol Oates

There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.
-Edith Wharton

For those of you doing NaNoWriMo, how are you holding up?
Feel free to share any motivational quotes that you live and write by.

I love all of those! The Oates one made me smile. :)

I'm just over 20k, so a little behind, but the determination is there.

Great stuff, thanks for sharing! I especially enjoy the one by Stephen King. Good luck with NaNo the second half of the month.

Very nice quotes, and though Joyce Carol Oates is one of my favourite authors, the quote that made me smile on and on here is Edith Wharton's. Brilliant brightness.

Nick: Hang in there! I'm a little behind right now too.

Paul: Thanks for the support.

Claudine: Brilliant brightness- we writers need to spread that around.

Hard work indeed. Although I'm finding Nano easier than editing my "finished" novel. I like creating the first draft and churning out words. The edits, for me, is where the real work starts.
